Green Goop -1 oz

Our family has used this salve forever, and it was dubbed ‘green goop’ after many years of hearing, “Where’s the green goop, Mom!” This salve has helped and healed us through minor cuts and scrapes to deep cuts from glass, lost fingertips in saw blades (husband was a carpenter), and mangled fingertips (son was a meat-cutter). In each case, the healing speed and ability of this salve was remarkable. We’ve also used Green Goop for sprains and strains, shingles pain, arthritis pain, and even used it as a massage oil. It’s a wonderful, all-around salve to have on hand.

Description

Directions: For cuts, scrapes, or wounds clean area thoroughly and place a generous amount of Green Goop on bandage and apply. Change bandage and reapply every 24 hours until healing has occured. For strains, sprains, arthritis, back aches, etc, rub moderate amount of Green Goop into affected area and massage into muscle for approximately 5 minutes. Reapply as necessary until injury is healed. Be aware that Green Goop is oily and may stain clothing or bedding. Please see a doctor for a serious wound or injury.
Ingredients: olive oil infused with herbs of comfrey, calendula, echinacea, st. john’s wort, beeswax
Comfrey: is the base herb we use in the salve, and it’s well-known for it’s ability to heal wounds of all kinds.
Calendula: an herb which can boost the healing rate on a wound and to prevent infection.
Echinacea: has anti-biotic properties to promote healing.
St. John’s Wort: mostly known as an anti-depressent herb, but surprisingly has pain-relieving properties.

Note: there is some controversy over the herb Comfrey. Our family has grown it’s own comfrey plants for the last 12+ years and have never had one problem, internally or externally. Basically, in my understanding, you would have to consume about 3x your body weight every day for about a year and a half in order for comfrey to have a negative effect.  Below is a link that is balanced and informative on the subject. Either way, please don’t let us talk you into anything; do your own research and/or speak to a doctor if you have doubts about comfrey.

My husband has diabetic neuropathy. He loves the Green Goop because it helps with the burning sensation in his feet. We are so glad that we have Jordan’s Crossing to order from.
