THIS WEEK’S
THOUGHTS AND THINKINGS
I've been thinking much lately about blogging and making money.
When I think of other bloggers I subscribe to, I find much encouragement from the emails I receive each day. But... very honest here... I get so tired of people selling stuff, and email after email bugging me to buy after I sub to something.

I do understand. It's not just that people are out for a buck. The little guy especially is a real person trying to make some extra money online so that the ends can meet. (Who doesn’t need that??)

But.... for myself.... I just can’t keep up with running JsCrossing that way. Maybe before my stroke three years ago, I coulda jumped in whole hog to that. But not now. My ability to multitask took a huge hit in my stroke. It’s just gone. I just can’t. It feels way overwhelming and stressful to me.

So, decisions...

I will not bug you and bug you about
buying stuff. We're a business. I will showcase our products as I feel the urge, and link up a few things here and there as seems appropriate, but I don’t want to be an online salesman. You won’t get email after email pestering you to buy something.

I want JsCross to be an encouragement and not a pressure.

Yes. We are a business. We do need people to buy our product. We do need peeps to support us that way. It does maintain our website and this newsletter.

But I don’t want to be hawking our wares at you or anyone.

I don’t really know how it’s going to look or work, but my heart is just to put a casual reminder and link about our store once in this digest each time somewhere, and then leave it up to you to decide.

I want you to close this email each time feeling lighter and more informed than when you opened it. Not pressured or manipulated.

Nobody needs that.

Weight Loss Journey: TRIM HEALTHY MAMA

The scale's not changed much since last time. But I’m not too worried. We'll just keep on keepin' on, and it’ll start coming off when it’s time.

I do notice though that if I eat energizing meals (low-fat/highcarb) and fuel pulls (low-fat/lowcarb) in the morning the weight keeps going down. And I’ve not been doing that lately for various reasons. My favorites breakfasts are cottage cheese and pineapple, Greek yogurt and peaches or some other fruit, French toast and/or Briana Thomas‘ banana eggs. (I know...that sounds weird).

I’ve also noticed when I’m eating more fruit like that, I don’t crave sweets as much, even the healthy non-sugar thm sweets. Back in the day, when I was coming off sugar I would have terrible cravings and daily eating fruit really helped. Those kinds of physical cravings aren’t really there anymore for me (unless I cheat and eat too much sugar too often, then they come back...which I found out last Cmas). But I still find if I have my fruit every day, then I don’t have those cravings as often, and as a bonus, my energy levels are higher, and the weight drops too.

Speaking of sugar withdrawal, I ran out of monk fruit sweetener recently. I ordered more but I got it from a different company and they process it differently and it ended up not agreeing with me. So I then had to order more which took a whole n'other week. It’s crazy, but I’ve gone like a whole week now with not having any kind of sweet (except for the little cheat I allowed myself from my friend Jennifer and her awesome chocolate chip cookies).

Anyway during the course of that sweet-less week, I found that the physical withdrawal symptoms weren’t there ..but
Bri's banana eggs
there was a definite mental withdrawal going on. I wanted... I wanted.. something sweet. I can’t say it was a craving. My body physically didn’t want it. But I def needed a mental hit of something sweet.

Thankfully, the monk fruit came yesterday and so I put it in my shrinker and, lo and behold, I found I didn’t need as much as I usually put in. I could get away with about half as much as I was used to using. That’s a wonderful thing on the budget! So, something good did come from my week of suffering. Lol.

Anyway ..I’ll go ahead and share Briana Thomas' banana eggs (my name) recipe. Here’s the link:

https://www.briana-thomas.com/not-your-typical-egg-white-scramble/

You’re going to think they’re weird and I don’t usually put the chicken on top, nor the whipped cream or syrup. I do sweeten them though and add a little extra vanilla and cinnamon. They taste like a custard without all the work of baking them and such. An easy and quick breakfast. So don't make faces at me until you try it. :P you might think me strange, but I’ll keep being happy that I can have my banana custard and eat it too. 😊

Essential Oil Usage

Essential Oil Useage Guide www.jordanscrossing.net
http://216.155.132.160/eo-usage-guide/

(The above article is new on the website, with a shortened version of this question).

Question: Do you really only need a few drops of essential oils?

I can’t remember where I saw it, but there was an article I read not too long ago which maintained that every brand of essential oils worked. The idea was even the brands that are dishonest and cut their oils with other oils have at least a little potential to heal and help. They’re just not as strong as companies who sell pure oils, but they will have at least some good effect.

Not that I’m anybody, but I have to agree with that. It makes sense to me.

And really, that’s the key to the above question. Do you really only need a few drops? Depends on the quality of your oils.

If you’re using a brand cut with other oils, then you’ll need more drops to accomplish things. But let’s say you’re
using 100% pure essential oils that have no carrier oils added to them. Then yes, you will only need a few drops.
However, your temptation will be to use more than you need. Honesty here. Even after years of using oils, I still catch myself forgetting and using more than is needed. But, less is truly more when it comes to Essential Oils. Using more is a waste of your investment, and you should try to force yourself into the “Less is More” habit of thought.

Start with a drop or two, and work your way up from there to determine how much you really need for the oil to accomplish its purpose for you. For example, if you're using Sweet Orange for relieving stress, then put a couple drops onto a tissue or diffuser and pay attention to when you feel yourself relax. If two drops work, then stick with that. If not, just bump it up one more.

Think minimalist to start, and go slowly to find your jive.

Also, keep in mind that your nose gets “nose blind” after a while and no longer picks up the aroma. (There’s an interesting article here on the whys of that). That doesn’t mean the oils are not still there and working. How will you know?

If you realize you’ve lost the aroma, then bring the tissue or necklace or whatever you’re using to diffuse the oil up to your nose and see if you can still smell it. If so, then it’s still working. But if you can’t smell it at all, then the oil has evaporated and you should apply more.

Spiritual Ponderings:God is Known in My Praise

He is worthy of Praise
The Lord’s been working Psalm 76:1-2 into me lately. God is known in Judah; His name is great in Israel. His tabernacle is in Salem; His dwelling place also is in Zion.

I was thinking how God inhabits the praises of his people. We usually only think of praise in terms of music. You know, ‘let’s get our praise and worship on’ is the phrase you hear nowadays.

But I think it’s so much more personal than that. It is that, but it’s so much more beautiful than just our emotions connecting to some tunes and words.

God inhabits our praises.

It’s so much more than chanting about our love for him. It’s about appreciating HIS qualities. The focus is HIM. Not how we feel.

“God is known in Judah; His name is great in Israel. His tabernacle is in Salem; His dwelling place also is in Zion.”

God is known in Judah.
Judah=praise.
His tabernacle is in Salem. Salem=peace.
He inhabits the praises of his people and the place of peace in our hearts. He dwells there. He lives in our praise.

Sometimes my emotions get the best of me. Sometimes I’m lonely. Sometimes I’m sad. Sometimes I’m feeling an unrest and lack of peace. Sometimes I’m just plain mad.

Too much emotion often makes me feel far away from God.

How to bring him near?

Praise. God inhabits the praises of his people. He’s known in Judah.

But, I can’t praise him with my own agenda. In other words, I can’t praise him in order for myself to feel better. I have to genuinely praise him for him. But there's something in doing such that changes how I feel. There’s something in genuinely praising the Lord for his attributes that helps me feel solid and secure. Joyful.

His love. His faithfulness. His mercy. His Grace. His work. His peace. His omnipotence. His ability. His Christ. His Holy Spirit. His Fatherhood. Him. HIM.

There’s something about doing that which just makes one feel joyful. There’s something about doing that which brings clarity to the mind. There’s something about doing that which makes every earthly thing somehow just fall away in its importance. It just lifts me out of my circumstances and sets me on the high road above all of that.

God is known in Judah. In my praise. I know God through praising him for him; I find my peace in that. And he dwells there in me.
