Jordan's Crossing Herbal Connections

Oct 25, 2024

Hi again, I hope you're all doing well. Lots on my mind lately with the holidays right around the corner, starting with Halloween. There's a new article up to share with you on that, as well as several reruns that touch on the same thought-line. The biggest thing though on my mind, is the uncertainty upcoming election. Our country is about to change one way or another, and I'm thinking it's probably not going to be for good in either direction. Honestly, I can see the possibilities of civil war... still far off.. but looming on the horizon. But I know America's hope isn't in a candidate or a political party. I know God hasn't given up control, and is still watching over it all, and has it in hand. I also know he will be with us in any challenges that are forthcoming. So, for now, we keep on keeping on and worry about today, and let him hold the tomorrows.

So with that thought in mind, where can you find us now that the Bartlesville Farmers Marketis over? You'll find us at 3 different local places. Our newest is Farm Hippie in Pawhuska, Early Bird Market in Bartlesville, and The Farmacy in Ochelata. We have a collection of various items in each store, and if there's something you need that we don't have there, just message us. See our website for what we offer, but be aware the prices there aren't updated yet, and don't reflect the rise in inflation. (www.jordanscrossing.net). We can deliver for free to Early Bird and the Farmacy with a day or two notice, and Farm Hippie is a little farther; and with a 10 day notice we can do that too.

With the holidays coming up, if any of you are up for some low carb goodies to share at Thanksgiving or Christmas, we can deliver that too. Again, message us on Fb or email us at JsCrossing@proton.me

Blessings to you all,

Mary

Controlling the Controller

Controlling the Controller
I’ve been studying Dopamine lately. Dopamine is the neuro-transmitter in our brain that’s responsible for feelings of pleasure. When activated, it essentially transports pleasing and gratifying information between nerve-cells. You know, that contented, mellowed feeling smokers get when they smoke, or what we feel like when eating our comfort foods, or the satisfaction that having pleasurable sex brings, etc. It’s …

Overcoming Diabetes - Part 1

My journey of overcoming diabetes started with the admission that I was a sugar junkie. Honesty with yourself can take you far! https://jordanscrossing.net/overcoming-diabetes-part-1/
Confessions of a ("healthy") Sugar Addict For many years I'd been a somewhat healthy eater. When my kids were young, and my oldest child (then 9-10) was shown to be hypoglycemic, for his sake, I began learning to cook from scratch. I learned about growing a garden, eating organic and in season, and also about real foods and avoiding the …

The Risk of Healthy Eating

The Risk of Healthy Eating Recognizing where our eating habits are being manipulated by society is essential to good health. www.jordanscrossing.net
So much of what we eat is socially dependent. We eat at this or that restaurant cuz the television makes it look so awesome. Or we even just see someone near us carrying a soda or candy bar and we're craving it. We're tied by our eyes. And more than that, we want to be like everyone else. We want …
